Subject line asks the question. I want to see how many people here know who they are, what they're about, and if you're a fan, what your favorite bits or moments from the show are? If you don't know who they are, like if you have no clue,go to, http://www.opieandanthony.com, and get some info. So, any O and A fans here? Let's see how many there are?
Oh man I miss O and A. I used to listen to them on wnew in New York before they went and got fired and always had to wear headphones so my mom wouldn't catch me hahahaha. And I don't have XM so I can't listen to them now that they're back on the air. I used to love when they did the Homeless shopping sprees around Christmas and they'd invade this really nice mall near me with drunk homeless guys.
Well you gotta get an xm, man. The price of XM will soon go up to $12.95 a month but O and A will be free instead of a premium. and Ron and Fez just might be joining them.
Heh... I used to listen to them with Dad in the car when I was a young lad of 12 (I think) my favorite bit was when ANthony (he's from where I am, by the way; Bay Ridge, is that cool or what?) did the Barny Impression ("DOn't forget to drink all your banana juice!") I couldn't stop laughing. YOu had to be there. And it was a sad day when they got taken fof the air in NY, apparently it was because they mentioned having sex in a cathedral or something weird like that. Oh well they would've been layed off somehow anyway, it was inevitable.

They didn't just mention it, someone actually did it and that started off the controversy and ruined everything. And I LOOOOOVE Ron and Fez. Gotta get an XM now.
Yep, rumor is Ron and Fez will be on XM High Voltage channel 202 in May! Yay! No better combination than Ron and Fez, and O and A on the same channel. and if they give Joe Rogan a show, forget it! All bets are off if they do that. lol, that's a positive all bets are off, not negative.
I know this will never happen but imagine if NHB was on with them?

stop herkying and jerkying around, and get an xm! ok... punchin out.
I listened to them a bit when they were on 94.1 wysp out of philadelphia PA. they were ok , i listened to a few shows .
I remember when I first tuned to them on wbuf in the afternoons. This was before they were cindicated all over the country. I was sad when they were fired in the summer of 2002. I was delited when there were fan sites set up where you could download pieces of the shows. I used to tape slective parts of the shows when I used to get it here. I never followed them to xm but I did tape the free fm shows as I got them. Now that free fm has been disbanded, I'm unsure where to go next. However I have over 3 gigs of o n a stuff so that'll hold me for a while.
I've been listening to them since the WNEW days and still listen to them every morning when i wake up earlly that is on my way to work or school.
There show has changed a lot do to the fcc regulations and all that crap but being a long time fan I give them a lot of credit for still finding ways to make good shows
I listen to them on BCN here in Boston and then catch the XM only portion of the show on replay at night. They sound so much more relaxed on the XM only portion. I know FM gives em more listeners and better guests, but XM is where a show like that truly belongs. As for a favorite O&A bit, I would have to say the Baby Bird video. So totally wrong but so totally funny. And for you animal lovers, the bit had nothing to do with harming animals, just lots and lots of vomit! The bits with stalker Patty are always cool as well! I'm totally bummed they can't do the homeless shopping spree this year. I went to one of the traveling virus tour dates over the Summer. Aside from the fact that the security in the place wouldn't let a blind guy buy a beer, it was an awesome show with a ton of tremendous acts. Lil Jimmy was the headline and his bit was incredible! He was signing his new book (which is an excellent read by the way) before the show. For obvious reasons, I didn't have a print copy of the book, but wanted to meet Lil Jimmy anyway. I met him and we talked for a minute or two and then he told me he had to sign something. So, I just lifted my shirt and had him sign my stomach!
Does anyone remember the practical joke O N A played back in 1998 on Waaf when for April fools day they said that the Mayor had a serious car accident and died? People were angry about it and on C.N.N. they mentioned the hoax as perpetrated by these two people. They said the announcement was complete farcical. That got them kicked off the Boston market. After the hoax they're people tried hard to run damage control and it didn't work. I guess them being kicked off the Boston market was good because it got them in to an even bigger market that would later include Boston as one of the affiliated cities. They waited forever for syndication. It was strange that as they were slowly being syndicated in 2002 they would once again be fired. This time for a stunt at St. Patrick's cathedral. They were tight lipped about the whole thing and on to xm they let loose in 2004. I regretted not being able to hear them on xm. Yes I was one of the cheapskates and still am as far as getting the service. I would however subscribe to hear the xm show if there was a way to on the internet. As I'm not entirely sure that's an option however. Besides I can get their assorted xm bits from the spreadthevirus web site. I think it was amazing when they were on WNEW however. Even as they were not syndicated yet, they had quite an audience just for New York and Canada alone. In Buffalo, WBUF ran the O N A show which made it's way in to Southern Ontario. So if they were never to be syndicated, I don't think that would have hurt them in the long run. Some shows in fact are better just as local shows. Just because a show makes it big and on every market doesn't make it any better. Entertainment value is what it should be about. However in a business sense that's not very sound since it's all about those numbers in the ratings. I got in to O N A after a friend of mine put me on to it. He said it was an excellent alternative to Stern. I started to burn out listening to Stern after Jacky left the show. Stern was loosing all the people that mattered on the show. Certainly he wasn't the funniest. Could be other people realized this too. Now there's all kinds of programming way better. So maybe there could be an incentive for me to want to get satellite. The only remaining factor to this would be that I like old fashion rf. If I want to hear virtual radio, that's what internet stations are for. Incidentally not to turn this in to a satellite thing but I heard that there streaming 64 bit for their audio. Well then why would anyone get a set just for that just use your computer and save your pennies.
One little flaw O N A can get rid of is this Patrice character. He's not funny. He's stupid. Why the fuck do they have this cackling moron for? Jim Norton is the shit. Keep him and when he's not there so be it. Hell, even Dice Clay is better than this fuckin clown. Oh and as far as the xm show being more relaxed, actually I beg to differ. That's where all the action's at. They can let loose and speak freely there. The people listening on regular radio are being short changed. They're missing out. Now I don't have xm but I've heard assorted best ofs and they're funny as hell. I am impressed however, that those two are a few that still have shows in both formats. Stern certainly doesn't. Phil Hendry walked away from his xm deal. So O N A definitely have the spot light. No problems there with the numbers as far as ratings go. They'll not have to worry about it for quite sometime.
Finally, another person who doesn't like Patrice! There's a reason they have him around, and I bet you can probably guess why but i'll just give you a clue. He's black, they're white, so when they do any racially charged humor...see? I've liked some of the points he's made about stuff, but oh my fucking god that laugh of his! fingernails on the blackboard everybody! I used to listen to Hoo Hoo back in the day but man he just ain't it anymore. Not to say he ever wasn't cause he did some incredible radio. but that's the thing, now that he's on satelite how farther can he go?
The only issue I see right now is that both CBS and XM seem to be cracking down. The Homeless Shopping Spree and the Eggnog Challenge were both canceled, probably because the lawyers just thought they were too contravercial. But they are such dumbasses, because that's the whole point. They were hired to do these things that attract attention to them and when they do, they're told they can't do them. It pisses them off and it pisses off the fans. I definitely think O&A have a good show, but if this stupid murger goes through, I'm sure they'll be around but there may be more trouble ahead.
O N A have had real good substitutes when Jim was not around. So I certainly don't mind some variations with the laughter now and then. As far as the race humour, maybe if this was the mid seventy's then I could understand dj's hiring a token black person or any random minority so they can do racial humour but in today's standards, everybody goofs on each other and it's more widely excepted so I don't think anyone really has to cover their asses like it used to be way before I was born. With Opie and Anthony the audience truly decides what's funny or what's way too far out of line. Nowadays it isn't only just a radio show. There's cameras in the studio going at all times, they got the paltalk going, there's instant messages everywhere, there's people in the studio from the audience, and my point is O N A have a constant pipe line to their audience that if they come up with something, they'll know instantly if it's a hit or a disaster. I mean you take Stern for instants, his thing is not the same with out the O N A pests, the prank callers, the wow thing, Etc. I mean I don't see the wack pack on a different talk show everyday explaining something about wow, or homeless shopping, or maybe vandalize the place and put all wow stickers and O N A things all over. Look the O N A supporters are one of a kind. There's no show that can top it because there's no show that does what O N A do. O N A have established a long time ago they're a unique team and they've proven it again and again. Even a few firings don't hurt them. Everyone misses them and would want them back soon as possible. You remember. 2002 and on, I wondered where O N A's next stop would be. I thought maybe television. Maybe they'll bring back something, some kind of appeal to S.N.L. You know how fuckin disappointed I am with that show? Every Saturday I fix me up a huge fuckin blunt and sit around at 11:30 for entertainment. Now it's gone straight to hell and I thought it would be hilarious if O N A were on that cast. Well xm it is instead and everyone was glad to hear them again. I never was in to the homeless shopping and the egg nog whatever, but I recognise it as a part of the show and I don't understand what happened this year, but CBS gimmy a break. There not above the stunts and pranks of their employ and this goes back to William Paley and also the Jack Benny show. The things they'd have Jack say about his host Don Wilson, not to mention Amos An Andy. They did stunts that should only be in radio. I say bring back the most offensive song contest and more Oj gags, and Tyson punching out bitches, and Dice trying to be Italian and will have us some WNEW days to come. Hey it's winter so I wanna hear Dice on Ice. Git me anudder broad, this one's fulla goo. Look she's skating in to the walls she can't see with all that goo in her face, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaao! It's Dice on Ice. Look what we did to you now!
